Huan Le Tao Qi Shu: Smart Mouse (歡樂淘氣鼠) is a Sega Mega Drive puzzle game developed by Chuanpu Technology and published by Ming Super Chip Electronic. A clone of the classic 1982 Sega arcade title Pengo, it was released exclusively in Taiwan in 1994.

Piko Interactive acquired the rights to this game and released the official English localization in 2017.

Plot

The game features Max the Mouse trying to get rid of annoying cats and slime creatures from the sewerage! Help him clean up his alley by kicking blocks to get rid of the intrusive enemies!

Gameplay

The game is a simple Pengo clone, with the goal being to destroy all the enemies in the stage without taking damage. Pressing pushes a block across the playfield.

Sound driver

Huan Le Tao Qi Shu: Smart Mouse uses the sound driver from the 1990 Sega Mega Drive version of Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair, and lifts a number of musical compositions from that game as well.

Development

While Huan Le Tao Qi Shu: Smart Mouse's developer is never explicitly credited, the game does provide production credits for its staff; the significant majority are employees of Taiwanese unlicensed video game developer Chuanpu.
