CALABASAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 26, 1995--T-HQ Inc. (NASDAQ:TOYH) Wednesday announced the release of the Sega Genesis version of the highly successful ``BASS Masters Classic'' video game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

Bass angler enthusiasts now have the choice of two systems on which to play this incredibly realistic fishing game. The Sega Genesis and Super NES versions are priced between $64.95 and $69.95, respectively, and are available at all major retailers and catalogs through the end of this year.

``BASS Masters Classic,'' for Super NES and Sega Genesis, is officially licensed by the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S. Inc.) and based on the most renowned and prominent bass fishing tournament in the nation -- the BASS Masters Classic.

The game is faithful not only to the pro circuit, featuring all of the official sponsors and rules of the ``Classic,'' but also teaches novice anglers about basic fishing techniques and equipment.

``After the enormous response to the Super Nintendo product, T-HQ is very excited about the opportunity to offer Sega Genesis owners `BASS Masters Classic' for their home systems,'' stated Brian Farrell, president and chief executive officer of T-HQ.

``Because this title appeals to a very enthusiastic and broad demographic, we've been able to explore alternative channels of distribution in addition to our usual retailers, including specialty hunting and fishing catalogs such as Bass Pro Shops.''

Marketing efforts have been widespread and have included advertising in official B.A.S.S. Inc. publications, including BASSMASTER Magazine, B.A.S.S. TIMES and the Classic Report, as well as national gaming publications.

A national promotion with Nintendo Power will send one grand-prize winner to the 25th annual BASS Masters Classic in Greensboro, N.C., Aug. 3, 4 and 5, at which T-HQ will be exhibiting and selling the product.

The Bass Anglers Sportsman Society has members in all 50 states and 57 countries around the world. It conducts the professional BASSMASTER Tournament Trail; administers more than 2,000 local clubs; publishes BASSMASTER magazine, SOUTHERN OUTDOORS magazine, B.A.S.S. TIMES newspaper, FISHING TACKLE RETAILER, the industry trade magazine; and administers the national BASSMASTER CastingKids program presented by Zebco and Rubbermaid, which attracted approximately 100,000 children and their parents last season.

It also produces THE BASSMASTERS television series, which airs Sundays on TNN, and spearheads environmental efforts with B.A.S.S. environmental directors in 46 states.

T-HQ markets and publishes interactive entertainment software worldwide for a variety of hardware platforms. Most of the company's products are based on licensed properties from popular movies, television series and arcade games, as well as from sports and other entertainment arenas.

T-HQ is also the exclusive North American distributor of the XBAND Video Game Modem. T-HQ has headquarters in Calabasas, and is publicly traded on NASDAQ under the symbol TOYH. -0-
