Thunder Force III

From Sega Retro

Please notice that the Genesis version of Thunder Force III was officially (and largely) distributed in France by Sega in 1991 (with US package and no modification). It was published at the same time that the PAL version of Hellfire. This "European" version was reviewed by french magazines like Player One, Console+ and Joypad.

The game was reviewed in Player One (1991 october) but it was delayed. Finally, it arrived around march or april 1992. It is reviewed in Console+ (april issue) and Joypad (march issue). I found this page:

Thanks a lot for this info! Good to know! (Seriously, Germany is really lucky for this.) - Andlabs (talk) 15:29, 4 August 2013 (CDT)

Sorry, it's not only Germany. The version reviewed by the magazines was the French one (i got one), distributed by Virgin or Sega France, i don't remember exactly. I suppose the game was sold also in Belgium, Luxemburg and Swiss. Raiden Trad, Vapor Trail and Gaiares are supposed to be distributed by Renovation in 1992 in Europe (source: Player One) but no proof about it.

I don't know who would have distributed Raiden Trad or the Renovation stuff in Europe; I don't think either Micronet or Telenet Japan had any outings in Europe. As for the French Thunder Force III, interesting; can you provide scans (unique scans for authenticity's sake)? I'm not sure about the other regions; if you can also provide proof of those, that would be great, thanks. - Andlabs (talk) 15:54, 4 August 2013 (CDT)

I dropped the box and manual i have only the cartridge, sorry. I can scan it, but there are no difference with a Genesis cart. Do you want it?

retrocollect.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1054 See here for the French version. I also posted magazine scans of the official UK release there. I think Sega Europe just released the Genesis version in Europe, with localised manuals for certain major non-English speaking countries. Maybe there's also a Spanish version yet to be discovered.--Pirate Dragon (talk) 17:19, 8 March 2014 (CST)
