Unlicensed Mega Drive clones
From Sega Retro
The Sega Mega Drive is the second most often cloned console in the history of video games (first one being Nintendo Famicom) with the global market penetration of these imitations being so big, that combination of bootleg and original units sells, would exceed the Super Nintendo ones (and it's clones) many times over.
It is difficult to establish, when the first model was released, but the earliest information suggests sometimes around 1992. During the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and even 2020s, the console got potentially thousands of different models and many of which did not resemble the original device in design or even in functions.
