Turrican is a run-and-gun game by Rainbow Arts on the Commodore 64. Rainbow Arts ported it to several home computers and licensed Accolade to make console ports — one of which was an unlicensed Sega Mega Drive port released 1991.
Rainbow Arts closed shortly after this version was published and the Turrican assets were sold to five former employees who formed Factor 5, who maintained the Turrican license so that its sequels could also appear on the Mega Drive — Universal Soldier and Mega Turrican.
