Template:YearCatNav 1985 saw the first SG-1000 games to be released on the Sega Card format as well as cartridge. A better year than 1984, Sega managed to secure licenses from Konami and Taito to port several of their games to the system, though Japanese consumers were still disinterested in the console. The Sega Mark III would be released in October of this year, effectively saying that SG-1000 support was soon to be over.
By this stage, no SG-1000 games were being distributed outside of Asia. Some made their way to Taiwan, but Sega had temporarily pulled out of Europe and Australia due to slowing sales.
