OutRun 2 SP SDX is another update to OutRun 2 and OutRun 2 SP. It stands for "OutRun 2 Special Tours Super Deluxe". The biggest difference with this version is that it was designed for Sega Lindbergh arcade hardware, rather than previous versions which were developed with Sega Chihiro arcade hardware in mind. This allows the game to run at an 800x480 resolution rather than 640x480.
Also included is cooperative play, where up to four players can race on the same track at once. 2-player cabinets are titled OutRun 2 SP DX while 4-player cabinets use the name OutRun 2 SP SDX.
