TOKYO, October 28 /PRNewswire/ --

- Already Available in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, Sonic Unleashed Will Soon Become Available in South East Asian Markets, Including India and Sri Lanka.

Gameloft(R), a leading publisher and developer of video games on mobile phones and consoles, today announced to expand its licensing agreement with SEGA(R) Europe Ltd. to a new agreement with Sega Japan. Thanks to this new agreement, Sega's Sonic Unleashed, the mobile game, which has been developed, published and distributed by Gameloft in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, will also become available in the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia (early January 2010), Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Cambodia, Lao, Vietnam, India and Sri Lanka.

"We are thrilled to expand its distribution of Sonic Unleashed mobile game to South East Asian markets, including India and Sri Lanka" says Sebastien Thevenet, General Manager Gameloft SEA Pacific. "This is our very first collaboration with SEGA(R) Corporation in the region. There is no doubt that Sonic Unleashed mobile game dual gameplay, coupled with this iconic character, will please millions of Asian customers for hours of fun."

"We are so happy to be able to provide the newest Sonic the Hedgehog title for the mobile handset platform to some of our best fans in the world, who are in the South East Asian markets." says Minoru Kabuta, Head of Mobile Group SEGA Corporation. "I hope that this quality game will spread widely and be played by thousands and thousands of both SEGA and Gameloft fans in this region."

The mobile game is a high speed 2D side-scrolling adventure that stays true to what's made Sonic such a popular and critical success over the years, both through environment and gameplay. Featuring dual gameplay, players will be able to engage as the regular Sonic the Hedgehog or Werehog, a werewolf who comes out at night, moves slower, but possesses incredible strength. The mobile game pits once again Sonic against Dr. Eggman, taking him across several continents to collect the chaos emeralds to save the world. Exclusive to the mobile game, Sonic Unleashed for mobile features a new personality with exciting new skills.

Sonic Unleashed(TM) for mobile has been released in June 2009 in Europe, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand, and will be available in South East Asia before the end of the year.
