MSX

From Sega Retro

Here's a competition for you: which is the most suitable MSX machine to use as an image?

I was thinking it should be the first machine ever released... but I can't actually work that one out. Spectravideo released some "almost MSX-compatible" systems in the US in 1983, but there are no US MSX games on this wiki and they needed modding for full MSX support.

In Japan, six machines were announced in 1983 at a trade show (don't know which one) for release in that year, but nobody seems to know which one came first. In fact a lot of sites state 1984 as a release date (which isn't true).

I was thinking of maybe going with one of the earlier Sony Hit-Bits or a Toshiba system since they're pretty mainstream - any challengers??

I guess this post in ASCII's page may be helpful. They say the very first model was the Mitsubishi ML-8000, which is Japanese so that helps too. --AllisonKidd (talk) 12:47, 14 April 2017 (CDT)
