UNIVERSAL PICTURES AND SEGA BRING THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK TO SEGA SATURN, SEGA GENESIS, GAME GEAR AND THE ARCADE

ATLANTA -- (June 19, 1997) E3 Booth #1546 --
Sega® of America is releasing dinosaurs into homes and arcades around the world -- with deadly effect. The company announced today the release of "The Lost World: Jurassic ParkTM," one of Sega’s largest cross-platform games for Sega SaturnTM, Sega Genesis®, Sega Game GearTM and the arcade.

"Sega takes the movie a step further in giving gamers four ways to become a part of the adventure," said Lydia Gable, group director of marketing, Sega of America. "Our Sega Saturn game will have a number of features not found in other ‘next-generation’ versions."

Sega Saturn
"The Lost World: Jurassic Park" for Sega Saturn provides a full interactive adventure through more than 20 action-packed levels with 40 different stages. With advanced 3D animation and enhanced graphics "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" produces the most realistic prehistoric experience available to gamers. Developed in conjunction with Dreamworks Interactive, the Sega Saturn version utilizes technology which results in crisp character movements and increased game fluidity. Gamers feel as if they are really in the Mesozoic era as they watch the skin of the dinosaurs appear to stretch as they walk, run, jump, slash, tear, and bite. Discover hidden paths as the game unfolds, where power-ups and enemies are waiting. Play as the Compy, Raptor and T-Rex from the minds-eye of the dinosaur; or the hunted, as scientist or game hunter from the human perspective.

Just try to feel secure in the "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" for Sega Genesis, as you travel on top of the maze-like world in a hover craft, cruise next to the dinosaurs in a Hummer or take the risk on foot. You are the human hunter in this intense action/adventure. You scour an island full of biological perils to capture dinosaurs for bounty. Players must live through more than five levels utilizing scores of weapons including a taser gun, grenades, a rocket launcher, a dart gun, bombs and rifle guns. Gamers can extend the experience by playing two player or on competitive teams.

"The Lost World: Jurassic Park" for the arcade follows in the tradition of Sega’s hit first-person, light-gun shooter "Virtua Cop," in a showdown between the human scientist and the dinosaurs, through a stunning 3D world. Sega’s dynamic camera angles in combination with the original soundtrack create a cinematic experience where players can find themselves in peril around every turn, including intense combat with a T-Rex. "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" provides gamers with a true test of agility, as they creep through levels immersed with hidden twists and gruesome dinosaurs sure to keep gamers on their toes.

You’ve never packed better graphics into your pocket than with "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" for Sega Game Gear. Only the best player earns the intense T-Rex bonus level. Dodge through high-adrenaline scenes looking for secret areas in search of armor vests to gain additional hit points so you can stay alive long enough to conquer once-extinct beasts.
