SEGA ADDS "SHINING FORCE III" TO SATURN LINE-UP

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- (December 22, 1997) --
"Shining Force IIITM" is a strategic role-playing game (RPG) that takes players on an adventure through an ancient civilization where they encounter multiple enemies in a battle to the death. Continuing the popular "Shining" video game series, "Shining Force III" offers players immersive role-playing technology with a segmented, turn-based battle system and more than 50 hours of gameplay.

Game Features

    Fully Developed 3D Engine - "Shining Force III" offers rich polygonal environments with buildings, houses and furniture viewable in 360 degrees. The main characters are also always in view regardless of their geographic position in the game.
    Custom 3D Software - "Shining Force III" features realistic, cinematic gameplay. Sega utilized custom 3D software to make hand-animated, frame-by-frame, full-motion models of the characters and environments in the game.
    Accelerated Gameplay - By funneling the game code through the Sega Saturn's sound chip processor for faster transfer of polygons, "Shining Force III" runs fluidly and at an increased frame rate.
    Extensive Gameplay - more than 50 hours of animated gameplay, including segmented, turn-based battling sequences and branching story lines with multiple hidden characters.
    Battle Map Feature - consistent with the "Shining" series, the battlefield map, an overview of battle area, can be accessed at any point during the game.
