Acclaim's TrickStyle Rockets onto Store Shelves in Conjunction with Sega Dreamcast* Launch

Award-Winning Stunt-Based Racing Game Maximizes the Power of Next Generation Gaming Console

GLEN COVE, N.Y., September 9, 1999 - Acclaim Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ:AKLM), a leading worldwide interactive entertainment company, today announced TrickStyle, its much anticipated stunt-based racing game for Sega Dreamcast is now available, concurrent with the highly-promoted "9.9.99" launch of the next-generation hardware system. The graphically astounding game takes racing to a new level by making tricks an integral part of the experience.

"TrickStyle is the perfect game for the debut of the Sega Dreamcast because it takes full advantage of the system's powerful graphics and game play technology," said Paul Eibeler, vice president and general manager of Acclaim North America. "With cutting edge gameplay, state-of-the-art physics, and ultra-realistic character animations, TrickStyle has everything it needs to become another high-quality brand for Acclaim."

Unlike traditional racing games, TrickStyle's gameplay is based on the use of hundreds of stunts in order to win the game - in both single-player and multi-player modes. Gamers not only have to be fast, they have to master the game's stunts as well, thus allowing gamers to speed up, access shortcuts and slow opponents down while racing on futuristic hover boards. In addition to a huge velodrome (a skate park designed just for air surfers), gamers can race through gorgeous futuristic renditions of Tokyo, New York City and London. Each city is recognizable by its famous landmarks, and boasts unique challenges, such as avoiding traffic and pedestrians in bustling Manhattan. In addition, TrickStyle uses a node-based racing system, which allows gamers to create their own paths through the cities.

TrickStyle's launch is supported by print ads in all major gaming magazines, including the premier issue of the Official Sega Dreamcast Magazine. In addition, TrickStyle was the only third-party title featured in Sega's in-theater advertising campaign, reaching millions of summer movie-watchers nationwide. Further, TrickStyle is a featured title in the Sega Dreamcast Mobile Assault Tour, visiting over 200 high-traffic locations in major U.S. cities, including the MTV Video Music Awards in New York City. A demo version of the game will also be distributed with Sega Dreamcast hardware systems. More information about TrickStyle can be found via a dedicated web site on Acclaim.Net at www.trickstyle.com.
