CTIA Wireless IT & Internet 2002

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 14, 2002

Sega Mobile Launches Classic Sega Games SEGA Monkey Ball, SEGA Fast Lane and SEGA Soccer Slam on AT&T Wireless mMode Service

At this year's CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & INTERNET 2002 being held in Las Vegas, Oct. 12-16, Sega Mobile, a division of Sega.com, Inc. dedicated to bringing SEGA content to the mobile market in North America, announced today the formation of a strategic alliance with one of the leading providers of advanced wireless voice and data services, AT&T Wireless (NYSE:AWE). Sega Mobile will leverage popular SEGA franchises and their extensive gaming legacy to deliver mMode customers the best in wireless gaming.

Initial titles that will be available to AT&T Wireless mMode subscribers include the popular franchises SEGA Monkey Ball and SEGA Soccer Slam as well as the classic game, SEGA Fast Lane. All three games are available on Motorola T720 handsets and can be downloaded directly from the phone menu. The game purchased will be billed directly to the customer's monthly AT&T Wireless invoice.

"With industry experts predicting that the number of wireless gamers will quadruple in the next three years, we are working to form partnerships with leading telecommunications providers that will allow us to bring SEGA content to an untapped market," said Fred Huey, COO, Sega Mobile. "We are thrilled to be able to leverage the world renowned game development talents of companies like Visual Concepts and Amusement Vision to bring some of SEGA's most popular new console franchises such as SEGA Monkey Ball and SEGA Soccer Slam to a broad base of wireless customers around the world."

AT&T Wireless mMode service launched earlier this year in order to provide customers easy, fast access to a variety of communication, information, and entertainment services from the keypad of their wireless phone. Customers can e-mail friends, check the latest news or sports scores, get driving directions, and now have access to innovative classic SEGA games.
