今回、モーターレイドのBGMが音楽CD化され、大変嬉しく思っています。このゲームは、近未来を舞台とした様々な惑星のコースを走破していくというバトルレースゲームです。私もバイク(50ccですが)でレースに出たことが5、6回程あり、普段もバイクに乗っているのでこのゲームを担当できてよかったです。BGMも近未来とスピード感をイメージ出来るような感じにしようと思い、これらの曲を作りました。そういった雰囲気が出ているでしょうか? 曲調はテクノっぽくなってると思います。私は昔からテクノが好きなのですが、なかなかゲームでそういう曲を作る機会がなくて、今回ようやく実現しました。このCDを聴いてくれてどうもありがとう。

えーと、私にこのゲームの開発が割り振られたとき、開発期間2ヶ月という嬉しいオマケ付きでした。こりゃキビシイと悟り企画担当と協議の結果、曲だけ社外に発注することになりました。私と企画担当で曲のイメージを伝え、送られてきた曲データを私がゲーム用に修正を加えたのがコレです。体が左右に大きく動くので、この音は右から、これは左からと言う様な鳴らし方はあまりしていません。普段、開発中のテストプレイをサウンド開発社の中では群を抜いてこなす私ですが、流石にこのゲームは体力が持ちません。3ゲームもすると汗ダラダラです。そんな訳もあり、私はこのゲームを減量器具と呼んでいます。
