Sega Ages 2500 Series Vol. 5: Golden Axe (SEGA AGES 2500シリーズ Vol.5 ゴールデンアックス) is the fifth entry in the Sega Ages 2500 series for the PlayStation 2. This game is a remake of the original 1989 arcade release of Golden Axe, presented entirely in 3D.

Versions

It is mostly the same game as before, but now features cutscenes, magic which regenerates slightly after an enemy is killed, and enemies now have life bars. It also has an arranged soundtrack.

Unlike the previous games in the series, this remake received mostly negative responses from the players due to the poor graphics, clunky controls and overall lack of impact of attacks. Other than the rearranged soundtrack, it is considered one of the worst Sega Ages volumes ever released.
