The game is an action platformer. Rounds consist of multiple levels of platforms connected by ladders and doorways. Each round contains five Draculas, but four of them are "dummies." To fight each Dracula, Mick must first find a key, which is dropped by a random enemy. Then he must locate a coffin and use the key to unlock it (by walking in front of it) and release Dracula. Dracula flies around as a bat and occasionally transforms into his human form; he can only be attacked in his human form. After defeating Dracula, Mick receives a heart that restores his health and a jewel. One of the Draculas per round, the "real" Dracula, respawns after being defeated and must be fought again. Draculas also respawn if they are not killed quickly enough after entering a skeleton form. After collecting all five jewels, Mick must find the magic door to exit the round.

There are six rounds total; the last three rounds are more difficult versions of the first three rounds. Rounds loop around horizontally. Mick also has a health meter and loses health from touching a monsters or other hazard or from falling from a great height. When he runs out of energy, he loses a life and starts over at the beginning of the round (but retaining the jewels that he has collected). The game ends if Mick loses all of his lives. Mick starts the game with three lives and receives an additional life at 50,000 and 150,000 points.

Ghost House (ゴーストハウス) is a Sega Master System action platform game developed and published by Sega. An enhanced port of the company's 1982 Sega G80 arcade game Monster Bash, it was first released in Japan on the system's innovative Sega Card format in April 1986, and is generally considered superior to the original arcade version.

Story

Mick must collect the family jewels, which are hidden within Dracula's mansion.

Gameplay

Mick walks with Left and Right. He ducks with Down, which can be used to avoid enemies and projectiles, and crawls with Down-left and Down-right. He jumps with 1. He attacks enemies by punching them with 2, though he can also equip knives that do more damage and have longer reach. He can attack while jumping. He climbs ladders with Up and Down and enters doorways with Up.

There are six rounds total; the last three rounds are more difficult versions of the first three rounds. Rounds loop around horizontally. Some platforms have traps that cause Mick to fall through them. Ceilings sometimes have spider webs that ensnare Mick and prevent him from moving; Mick can escape by quickly alternating between Left and Right. Mick takes more damage while stuck in a web. The basement in each round contains a blazing fire that damages Mick if he does not avoid it.

The game has a two-player mode where players share a controller and take turns.
