Sega Enterprises, Ltd. (株式会社セガ・エンタープライゼズ Kabushiki-gaisha Sega Entāpuraizezu) was the corporate name of Sega of Japan from July of 1965 to July of 2000. It then changed to Sega Corporation.
+
stubSega Enterprises, Ltd. (株式会社セガ・エンタープライゼズ) was a company that resulted from the merger of Nihon Goraku Bussan (trading as "Sega, Inc.") and Rosen Enterprises in July 1965.

This page compiles all games which can't be attributed to specific development divisions. The documentation of different internal divisions starts at 1984.
+
This company was acquired by Gulf+Western in 1969 and put under the control of Sega Enterprises, Inc., originally a North American subsidiary in 1974. While strictly speaking this would make Sega an American company for the remainder of the 1970s, product development continued to occur in Japan, and after the absorbtion and dissolution of Gremlin Industries in the early 1980s, the Japan branch became the dominant force in the production of video games.

+
Gulf+Western sold the Japanese Sega Enterprises to CSK in 1984 and absorbed the American company, turning Sega Japanese again. While owned by CSK, Sega Enterprises established an American subsidiary still in operation, and would become a household name across the world with the release of home video consoles over the 1980s and 1990s.

Sega Enterprises would change its name to Sega Corporation on November 1, 2000.

This short article is in need of work. You can help Sega Retro by adding to it.

Sega Enterprises, Ltd. (株式会社セガ・エンタープライゼズ) was a company that resulted from the merger of Nihon Goraku Bussan (trading as "Sega, Inc.") and Rosen Enterprises in July 1965.

Sega Enterprises would change its name to Sega Corporation on November 1, 2000[2].
