Anaconda is an action game, developed by Devworks Game Technology and published by Tec Toy. It was released as a built-in game on several Sega Mega Drive models released in Brazil.
Anaconda is a clone of Snake: In this game, players drives an Anaconda snake that must eat fruits scattered randomly through the screen. The snake itself grows a tile larger for each fruit consumed. After eating a certain amount of fruit, the player moves onto the next stage layout, featuring different walls across the screen. Touching itself or the walls gets the player a Game Over, regardless of how far the player had make progress on the first stage as much.
Despite the name, this game is not based or is related with the Anaconda movie franchise by Sony Pictures, though the popularity of the first two movies might helped in the process for the game's final title.
Built-in appearances
- Super Mega Drive 3 71 Super Jogos (2005)
- Master System 3 Collection 120 Super Jogos (2006)
- Mega Drive 3 (2007)
- Mega Drive 3 (2008)
- MD Card Game 1 (2009, as part of a SD card for MD Play)
- Mega Drive 4 (2009)
Although it was featured on a Sega Master System model, Anaconda does not have a native Master System version, but rather, the machine itself is a "hidden Mega Drive" machine[1] and does run Mega Drive ROM images.
