David Perry's private cheat mode

Pause the game and press +, , +, . The game will cut to a screen showing developers at Shiny Entertainment, and a debug/options screen. While the options are the same regardless of region, the system details and build date vary depending on the ROM and console being used. The options are:

• Invincibility: Enables invincibility.
• Start on Level: Press and to select a level, and  START  to play the selected level.
• Freezeability: Prevents the game from dimming the screen when paused.
• Map View Mode: Use the D-Pad to move the camera around the level, and press to move Jim to the camera's location.

Extra life

Pause the game and press +, . The game will play the "Cheater! Wheee Doggy!" voice clip if entered correctly, and when unpaused, Jim will have an extra life. This can be performed as many times as you would like.

Extra continue

Pause the game and press , +, .

Skip level

Pause the game and press , +, +, +. The game will say "cheater" and the level will end.

Refil energy

Pause the game and press . The game will say "cheater" and your energy will set to 100%. This can only be performed once.

Plasma gun with 9 rounds.

Pause the game and press +, . The game will say "cheater plasma!" and you will be given 9 shots for your plasma gun.
