Craig Stitt is a former developer for Sonic Team who worked at the Sega Technical Institute. He is currently employed at Insomniac Games. ICEKnight conducted an interview with him in January 2001 where he clarified several mysteries, including the fact that Tails was not supposed to be the guardian of the Master Emerald. You can find a copy of the interview here or at ICEKnight's website, Sonic Database.
