Global Entertainment R&D Dept. #3 or GE3 was a division within Sega of Japan. It essentially is the Phantasy Star team of Sonic Team, and continued the Sonic Team branding. It also carried over some Overworks staff who had worked on Sakura Taisen Online and the online-only Guru Guru Onsen series. It merged with Sega CS3 in 2008, and dropped the Sonic Team branding.
