This teeny-tiny article needs some work. You can help us by expanding it.
Software R&D Dept. #1 (第一ソフト研究開発部) was a short-lived division of Sega. Essentially a continuation of Sega AM1, the "AM" name was dropped when the AM (amusement) and CS (consumer) R&D divisions were merged. Software R&D #1 kept its number and most of its staff, being largely unchanged during this period, and made no changes were made from AM1 regarding management or approach to games
Query: SELECT `cargo__issuenames`.`name` AS `issuename`,`cargo__issuenames`.`date` AS `date`,`cargo__issuenames`.`pdf` AS `pdf`,`cargo__magnames`.`name` AS `magname`,`cargo__magnames`.`country` AS `country` FROM `cargo__issuenames` LEFT OUTER JOIN `cargo__magnames` ON ((`cargo__issuenames`.`code`=`cargo__magnames`.`code`)) WHERE `cargo__issuenames`.`code`="dmjp" and `cargo__issuenames`.`num`="1999-36" ORDER BY `cargo__issuenames`.`name`,`cargo__issuenames`.`date`,`cargo__issuenames`.`pdf`,`cargo__magnames`.`name`,`cargo__magnames`.`country` LIMIT 1 Function: CargoSQLQuery::run Error: 1021 Disk full (/tmp/#sql-temptable-15e6a-cddb51-23a.MAI); waiting for someone to free some space... (errno: 28 "No space left on device") (localhost)
[2]. Recent works the department boasted from the AM1 era included The House of the Dead, the Dynamite Baseball franchise and Sega Bass Fishing
Query: SELECT `cargo__issuenames`.`name` AS `issuename`,`cargo__issuenames`.`date` AS `date`,`cargo__issuenames`.`pdf` AS `pdf`,`cargo__magnames`.`name` AS `magname`,`cargo__magnames`.`country` AS `country` FROM `cargo__issuenames` LEFT OUTER JOIN `cargo__magnames` ON ((`cargo__issuenames`.`code`=`cargo__magnames`.`code`)) WHERE `cargo__issuenames`.`code`="dmjp" and `cargo__issuenames`.`num`="1999-36" ORDER BY `cargo__issuenames`.`name`,`cargo__issuenames`.`date`,`cargo__issuenames`.`pdf`,`cargo__magnames`.`name`,`cargo__magnames`.`country` LIMIT 1 Function: CargoSQLQuery::run Error: 1021 Disk full (/tmp/#sql-temptable-15e6a-cddb51-23e.MAI); waiting for someone to free some space... (errno: 28 "No space left on device") (localhost)
[3]. A new series to Soft R&D 1 was the Real Life Career/Sega Professional series, which began with Airline Pilots the last months of trading as AM1 and expanded with Brave Firefighters and Emergency Call Ambulance.
In 2000, it was spun-off into a new (wholly owned) development company, WOW Entertainment.
