Global Entertainment R&D Dept. #3[1] (第三GE研究開発部)[2] or GE3 was the third Global Entertainment research and development department of Sega Corporation. It was one of 7 departments under the Global Entertainment R&D Div.[1]. The division continued as CS2 in May 2008. It essentially is the Phantasy Star team of Sonic Team, and continued the Sonic Team branding. It also carried over some Overworks/Sega WOW staff who had worked on Sakura Taisen Online and the online-only Guru Guru Onsen series. It merged with Sega CS3 in 2008, and dropped the Sonic Team branding.
