The Mega Drive 3 is a "console on a chip" Sega Mega Drive distributed exclusively in Brazil by Tec Toy in 2007. It was advertised with the unique marketing gimmick in which the physical surface of the console acts like a canvas; the system shipped with a special marker, and customers were encouraged to decorate their new consoles with their own unique designs.

Design

The console is physically identical to a Sega Mega Drive 2, though is painted white with blue logotype. It does not feature a cartridge slot, and unlike previous models, only supports composite video output. It would also be the final Tec Toy console based on a Sega design until the 2017 relaunch of its original Sega Mega Drive.

The system’s inital release included a purple marker intended for customizing its white canvas-like surface with art, decorations, and the like. Later releases did not ship with an included marker, although the system retained its white surface.

Games

A total of 81 built-in games are included.
