SG-1000-based arcade hardware (for lack of a better name), is an arcade system developed by Sega and released in 1984. As the name suggests, it is a system based on the SG-1000 console. It was likely not released outside of Japan.
During the 1980s home video game consoles were considered inferior than dedicated arcade machines, and the SG-1000 was no exception. As a result, very few games were brought to this arcade system (all were SG-1000 ports) and neither captured the imagination of the gaming public. It is likely that this particular arcade system was offered to arcade operators with a smaller budget, similar to the likes of Sega System C and Sega System E.
List of Games
- Champion Boxing (1984)
- Champion Pro Wrestling (1985)
- Doki Doki Penguin Land (1985)
