Balloon Gun (バルーンガン) is a discrete logic arcade video game manufactured by Sega Enterprises, Ltd. and released in August 1974. It was a first-person light-gun shooter, with twin guns for two-player co-op gameplay.

Balloon Gun was notably the first light gun shooter video game released in arcades, as well as the first multiplayer light gun shooter video game. In 1975, Sega released Bullet Mark, a similar game where the players use Tommy guns to hit a variety of moving targets displayed on the monitor.

Gameplay

The game is a 1 or 2-player game and perfect score is 60. As the game starts, the balloons appear in a slow pattern, allowing ample time for careful aim; as the game proceeds, the balloons are released at a faster rate making scoring more difficult. With each balloon that is burst by a pistol shot as it appears in the target area, a score of 1 point is recorded. Each player is given 60 shots and the game ends when that number has been fired.

In a 2-player game, the first one to use all 60 shots terminates the game for both players and the one with the highest score is the winner.
