In the 70s Kuwait was one of the countries where Sega imported its game machines.
Alesayi United distributed the model 2 Sega Mega Drive , Sega Master System , Sega Mega CD and Sega Game Gear , Sega 32X , Sega Saturn consoles in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.[1]
In 1995, Alaab Alcomputtar was created, which was the first Arabic video game magazine.
PSX and Saturn started fighting each other around 1996 with the growing popularity of the CD. The first CD consoles in this region were Neo Geo CD and Sega Mega CD but they did not sell as well as these two consoles.
From the late 2000s, Red Entertainment Distribution was involved in the sale of Sega products.
Geekay Distribution is an exclusive Sega distributor since 2019.
Planet Sega BurJuman and Sega Republic also operated in the UAE. Majid Al Futtaim Leisure distributed Sega arcade games in the country.
