History of Sega in Colombia |
---|
Official Sega distributor(s): Unknown (199?-2002) Latam Games (2012-present) |
Due to Colombia using NTSC, Sega did not have a actual presence in the region until the early-90s when a official distributor came to release Sega products in the region. This lasted until 2002 when the distributor closed due to combatting piracy, the rise of imports and competition from Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft which caused Sega to exit the console market the year prior. Latam Games distributes Sega games in Colombia from 2012[1]. The company also cooperated with NC Games[2].
