Outback Joey

From Sega Retro

Revisions

  • Release: November 1993, packed in with Catalyst and Personal Trainer, round edged label, no box.
  • Rev. 1: January 1994, included in later sales of the system and apparently shipped to registered buyers for free, sharp-edged label, in box. Possibly released to address a critical gameplay bug in original release. Released no later than 1994-01-21. Likely released first or second week of the month. HeartBeat either threw this together quickly, or was already working on the revision before the original was even released. Seriously, is there some serious bug in the original release?

To do

  • The game got dumped. Mention it, when, who, why its notable, why it went undumped for so long, its emulation difficulties, etc. Is there a Hidden Palace entry?
  • Is Outback Joey a mascot platformer? I didn't really get any mascot vibes, but I don't know, I guess I can see it. Once I get deeper into the marketing side of this, see if they ever gave him mascot things like tude or whatever.
