Sega World Drivers Championship (SWDC) is an arcade racing game by Sega based on the Super GT license. The game was built using Unreal Engine 4.[3]
It is the first arcade game to combine local multiplayer with nationwide online play. Previously arcade games either just allowed itself to be played locally with multiple cabinets, or a single cabinet connects to the internet. Up to 45 players can participate in one race.
History
SWDC was location tested at Sega Akihabara and Sega Ikebukuro GiGO between the 28th and 30th of July, 2017[4] followed by another location test from the 23 to 24 of September, 2017[5], and another from the 20 to 28 of December, 2017.[6]
