Cybersound was a combination MIDI instrument set and software driver used by many Saturn games such as NiGHTS into Dreams, Dragon Force, and Sakura Taisen. It was also used on other platforms such as the PC and Macintosh. Since the samples are contained within the software itself for subsequent digital playback, you could also liken the mechanics to that of a Amiga music module or a software-driven wavetable like those currently being offered by Yamaha. The company that developed Cybersound, InVision Interactive,is now out of business, and searching newsgroups will reveal a number of people wondering what to do with a product that is no longer supported.
