Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise (北斗が如く), lit. "Like the North Star", is a Yakuza spin-off developed by Ryu ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega for PlayStation 4, that uses the characters from the Hokuto no Ken manga series.
Story will follow Kenshiro, a martial artist on a quest to rescue his kidnapped lover, Yuria, who faces off against several powerful warlords in a post-apocalyptic world wracked by nuclear war.
Hokuto ga Gotoku is the third Fist of the North Star game made by a Sega studio. Previously Sega released a Sega Master System game (Black Belt) and a Sega Mega Drive game (Last Battle). Both of these games were westernized (story and names of the characters changed) due to limited following of the North Star series had in the overseas.
Most of the gameplay elements from Yakuza series are retained, except small tweaks to fighting system in order to make it more like something part of the North Star universe. The game follows the manga but also has side stories and mini games similar to the Yakuza series. Some of these mini-games and side stories will have a humorous, tongue-in-cheek nature similar to the ones found in Yakuza games, including a bartending mini-game, in which Kenshiro will prepare drinks using his Hokuto Shinken powers.
The original Master System game is playable as a mini-game.
Many of the voice actors from the Yakuza series return for Hokuto ga Gotoku. For example Takaya Kuroda, who voiced Kazuma Kiryu in Yakuza, will voice Kenshiro.
