Golden Axed: A Cancelled Prototype was a limited time free game published by Sega for Steam as part of their Go Sega 60th Anniversary campaign. It is a release of a cancelled Golden Axe game. It was removed from sale on 19 October 2020.

History
The game was originally developed in 2012 in only two weeks.[2] The programmer was not informed of the game's release, or that it would be treated as a joke, and reacted angrily on Twitter.[3] In response, Sega edited the game's description to be less derisive.[4][5]
