Michael Jackson was an extremely successful American recording artist.

During the late 1980s and 1990s, Jackson had a very strong relationship with Sega, inspiring many of its employees and products as well as working with the company to create his own video games. Most notably, Sonic the Hedgehog's buckled shoes are said to have been inspired by Jackson's outfit on the cover of his album, Bad, and much of the music from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was composed by the artist (see his Sonic Retro page for more details). Sega would also create the video game interpretation of Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, based on his feature-length film.
