Outa Sano is a senior programmer at Sega originally involving with ports of racing titles. Though initially employed through Sega AM9, he transferred to Smilebit just prior to the former's re-christening as United Game Artists.

At Smilebit Sano worked on the Jet Set Radio series and the latest entry in the Panzer Dragoon series. He was later reassigned to Sonic Team, starting with Shadow the Hedgehog.

In addition to boss programming, Sano is distinguished from others in his field by being able to program a game for multiple platforms. This is best exemplified by Sonic Generations, his latest role, where he served as Programming Director.
