Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium, known as Phantasy Star: Sennenki no Owari ni (ファンタシースター 千年紀の終りに) in Japan, is an entry in the Phantasy Star series. Phantasy Star IV marks the end of the "classic" Phantasy Star series, and was the last to be released for the Sega Mega Drive. The game has since got a release on the Mega Drive Mini, this release like the Wii version fixes the Level 99 glitch.
The series would continue after a six year gap with Phantasy Star Online for the Sega Dreamcast.

Development
Plans were put in place to include pseudo-3D stages like in the original Phantasy Star but the idea was scrapped during development.
A Sega Mega-CD version was announced, but was not released.
