Three Dirty Dwarves, Puzzle Castle and Fractured Fairy Tales: The Frog Prince now on retail shelves nationwide

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (October 3, 1996) - After less than a year in business, independent software developer and publisher SegaSoft, Inc. now has three products, in two distinct categories, on retailers' shelves nationwide. The trio includes one all-out action game, Three Dirty Dwarves, and two children's titles, Puzzle Castle and Fractured Fairy Tales: The Frog Prince. This shipment represents the first wave of interactive entertainment and edutainment products from the Redwood City, Calif. company.

"SegaSoft is on the road to success with Three Dirty Dwarves and our first children's titles, Puzzle Castle and Fractured Fairy Tales: The Frog Prince," said Mr. Nobuo Mii, SegaSoft's Chairman and CEO. "Our mission is to provide the very best in interactive entertainment experiences, and these products are a preview of the great things to come from SegaSoft."

In Three Dirty Dwarves, a crisply animated 3-D action adventure title, players must help the three main characters (Greg, Taconic and Corthag) rescue a pack of genetically altered whiz kids from the evil clutches of General Briggs. Commanding the heroic trio through the streets of "Neau Yorkus," players free the helpless kids by using baseball bats, bowling pins, footballs and baseballs as their fighting tools.

GamePro (August 1996) says "Three Dirty Dwarves is a rollicking, bat-swinging, shotgunning, ball-throwing brawl."

Puzzle Castle and Fractured Fairy Tales: The Frog Prince are published under the Trampoline brand, a SegaSoft brand that provides "stealth learning" for children ages 4 to 7.

Based on the best-selling Young Puzzle Books from Usborne Publishing, Puzzle Castle enlists players to help the heroine knight, Sophie, on her quest to save the castle from monster lurking in the dungeon. Along with a cast of engaging animated characters that includes a playful ghost and a klutzy juggler, children help Sophie overcome more than 40 challenges. With variable difficulty levels and multiple games, this package offers children a fun new experience each time they sit down to play.

Fractured Fairy Tales: The Frog Prince follows the trials and tribulations of an unfortunate amphibian who has been turned into a handsome prince by a meddling witch. Before he can return to his (water lily) pad, the prince must track down the witch and have her reverse the magic spell. Based on the classic Rocky and Bullwinkle & Friends cartoon series from Jay Ward Productions, this hilariously fun, education/adventure title includes cameo appearances by the world's most famous moose and squirrel team and several of their friends.

Now Available Nationwide

All three SegaSoft titles are now available nationwide wherever computer software and video games are sold. Three Dirty Dwarves is available for the Sega Saturn and retails for $44.99. Puzzle Castle and Fractured Fairy Tales: The Frog Prince are hybrid CD-ROM (Windows/Macintosh) titles that retail for $29.99 each.
