SEGA LAUNCHES VALUE-PACKED SOFTWARE PROMOTION FOR SEGA SATURN
- Three Free Games With Every Sega Saturn Purchased In September -

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--August 30, 1995 ---Sega of America today announced that everyone who buys a Sega Saturn, between September 2 and September 30 will receive three free games with their system, in addition to the arcade hit Virtua Fighter, which already comes with the Sega Saturn. A more than $150 value, this software giveaway brings the effective cost of Sega Saturn hardware to $249.

Customers will receive the hit action adventure game Clockwork Knight, popular sports game Worldwide Soccer and Virtua Fighter Remix, a special-edition, graphically-enhanced upgrade to the world's most popular fighting arcade game, Virtua Fighter, free of charge.

All three titles have received rave reviews from early Sega Saturn owners.

"We're bringing home the message that great software is the only reason to buy a video game system, and Sega Saturn has, and will continue to have, the most compelling software available -- period," said Mike Ribero, executive vice president, marketing and sales, Sega of America.

Sega is promoting the value-packed software giveaway in September to pre-empt competitive efforts to undercut Sega Saturn, according to Ribero.

"We've put together a hardware-software combination that will remove any doubt from gamers who have waited until now to buy their next-generation system -- the only choice for the best and most games is Sega Saturn," Ribero stated.

Sega Saturn, Sega's next-generation video game system, was launched in the U.S. on May 11 in limited distribution. September 2 marks the day when Sega reaches full distribution for Sega Saturn in more than 12,000 stores nationwide. More than 100,000 Sega Saturns have been sold since May 11.

Clockwork Knight and Worldwide Soccer will be delivered to consumers at time of purchase; Virtua Fighter Remix will be sent via mail once customers have registered their Sega Saturn with Sega through the company's dedicated 1-800-SEE-SATURN phone service. In addition, registered owners purchasing Sega Saturn systems before April 1, 1996, will receive That Virtua Feeling, a compilation CD produced exclusively for Sega from Sub Pop Records, and the first level of Panzer Dragoon at no additional cost while supplies last.

Virtua Fighter Remix is also available free of charge to anyone who purchased Sega Saturn since May 11 and registered their name with Sega.
