REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 16, 1995--Sega of America Monday announced that it has made an equity investment in Knowledge Adventure Inc., a leading developer of PC CD-ROM titles for children.

In addition, the companies have agreed to collaborate on edutainment CD-ROM title development. Terms of the investment and product timelines were not disclosed.

The investment also involves CSK Venture Capital. The announcement comes one month after Sega introduced its new Sega PC brand, which is bringing Sega-developed arcade-style titles and original content to the PC marketplace.

``This partnership represents an expansion of Sega's role as a leading provider of interactive software across content categories on volume platforms,'' said Tom Kalinske, president and chief executive officer of Sega of America.

``Teamed with Knowledge Adventure's proven track record in educational PC software, we're confident our jointly developed edutainment titles for children will be a hit.''

Bill Gross, chairman and founder of Knowledge Adventure, said: ``We are very excited to be working with Sega. Knowledge Adventure, with headquarters in Glendale, Calif., was founded by Bill Gross in 1991. The company's mission is to build products that parents feel are essential to the educational success of their children and at the same time provide enriching and engaging experiences to children.
