Trident Announces SEGA Games Sampler Now Available With PC Boards Featuring ProVidia Chip; SEGA CD-ROM to Be Marketed By Board Manufacturers for Living-Room PC Gaming.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 7, 1997--Trident Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ:TRID) today announced that numerous add-in board manufacturers worldwide will bundle the ProVidia9685 graphics controller with a special CD-ROM sampler from SEGA Entertainment,Inc., featuring seven limited play games for the PC, including the popular SonicCD, Daytona USA, and Virtua Squad titles.

The full versions of these DirectX SEGA games are now in considerable demand.

Trident's ProVidia9685 is the first single-chip DirectX graphics controller solution specifically designed for displaying PC contents on TV monitors. The ProVidia9685 provides high-quality video images to both VGA and TV displays, with Trident's proprietary third-generation ClearTV TV-Out and TrueVideo video display technologies. It also features dual video windows for video conferencing and enhanced gaming.
