Sega Game Gear Tips Volume 1 is a VHS which contains tips and hints for various Sega Game Gear games. It was released as a promotional item by the Howard Johnson's hotel chain in the United States.
Sega Game Gear Tips Volume 1 is a short film (roughly fourteen minutes in length) which details tips and cheats for X-Men: GamesMaster's Legacy, Ecco: The Tides of Time, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Sonic Triple Trouble, World Series Baseball and NFL '95. Also previewed is Legend of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse, Fred Couples Golf which had yet to be released, as well as the upcoming Game Gear version of Ristar (although Sega Mega Drive footage is used in this segment). There is also a great deal of live action footage, depicting a Howard Johnson customer being haunted by staff plugging the Game Gear.
As the name may suggest, Sega Game Gear Tips Volume 1 was followed by Sega Game Gear Tips Volume 2.
