Localization Changes

Bare Knuckle III suffered severe censorship during its localization in the US and Europe as Streets of Rage 3. Among the most notable changes were the removal of a certain Homosexual miniboss by the name of Ash, main character costume color changes, a new plot with loopholes, female characters with scantily clad altered, and an increased difficulty level. These and other changes ultimately hurt critical reception in Europe and North America. Some reviewers even urged that Streets of Rage Series fans import Bare Knuckle III or skip this title entirely.
