Vuelta a Espanha

So in Spain Sega sponsored the Tour of Spain 1993 and they transformed a big truck in an "arcade" full of Sega consoles for kids to play at no charge, to promote the brand around the Country ... Genious =) ... this came from a VHS cassette distributed in Spain in 1993 called "La noche mágica de Sega" ("Sega's Magic Night")... as you can see Ecofilmes borrowed some parts of that tape to make their fourth promo VHS cassette... =) ...--Asagoth (talk) 16:22, 14 April 2019 (EDT)

Hollywood Cars...

Sega was the official Sponsor of booth 5 (Batman's "Batcave") in the two editions of the "Hollywood Cars" Exhibition (Barcelona and Madrid)... and the proof to this is on page 13 of Issue #8 (issue #3 does mention to the Barcelona edition) of Spanish magazine "Todo Sega", as described in the page header (in red) "Sega Vuelve a Patrocinar el Stand de Batman" ("Sega will sponsor Batman's booth again") ... the mags need to be cropped first... the Madrid edition was held in a large wooden Pavilion (Pavilion #11... the venue was composed by a couple of wooden pavilions used specifically for trade shows and the like by this Madrilenian institution that every year organizes fairs on the most varied economic sectors, with the aim of promoting commercial relations for the companies of the region) of the IFEMA - Institución Ferial de Madrid (Trade Show Institution of Madrid) located in Casa de Campo, the largest public park in Madrid...--Asagoth (talk) 09:49, 19 April 2019 (EDT)

The proof to this is on the video "La Noche Mágica de Sega"... by the way... this VHS cassette was given to a select number of people who was invited to this Sega Spain private party (retailers, executives, etc...) called precisely "La Noche Mágica de Sega" as you can see here on this "I don't know which one" issue of the Spanish magazine Mega Sega--Asagoth (talk) 18:05, 20 April 2019 (EDT)

Edit: That private party called "La Noche Mágica de Sega" ("Sega's Magic Night") was held in a large tent, in the gardens of the Castillo de Viñuelas (a castle) in Madrid as proved here on Hobby Consolas (there's also a photo of Sega's booth at the Batcave in the Hollywood Cars exhibition which I will extract)... 1000 guests attended the party (executives, distributors, etc)... Sega hired a group of magicians to entertain the guests (hence the name of the party)... by the way ... this page is from issue #2 of the Spanish magazine Mega Sega... it looks that Sega's Europe Managing Director Nick Alexander was one of the guests...--Asagoth (talk) 17:38, 2 May 2019 (EDT)

1992 Summer Olympics

According to Spanish newspaper El País... 400 Sega Mega Drive consoles, 30 Sega Game Gear consoles plus 11 arcade cabinets distributed across five rooms (one for athletes only) in the The Olympic Village of Poblenou to entertain visitors and athletes... Hobby Consolas (pages 20, 21 and 22... cool photos) says the same except for the number of Sega Mega Drive consoles which according to them was 200 consoles... it looks that R-360 was a hit among athletes... can this be considered a sponsorship? ...--Asagoth (talk) 15:04, 24 April 2019 (EDT)

Cool =) ... but the numbers are a bit contradictory... some mags say 400 Mega Drive and 30 game gear... while some say 200 mega drives and 60 game gear... I guess we have to go by "votes"... Dreamscape

Rock in Wien / Rock auf der Insel 1993

As you guys know this concert was held in a Stadium in Leopoldstadt (a Vienna district near the Danube Island) but was called "Rock auf der Insel" (Rock on the Island) and also referred as "Rock auf der Donau Insel" (Rock at the Danube Island)... however there's also an annual festival that is free of charge, held since 1983 on the Island itself, called Donauinselfest and hosted by the Social Democratic Party of Austria... in 1993 the Donauinselfest was held a month after the "Rock in Wien" in June... this can be so confusing to the point that even Def Leppard, a band who was present at the "Rock in Wien 1993" incorrectly listed it as the "Donau Insel Fest" on the initial European tour schedule released by the band on MTV in January 1993... so the "Rock in Wien 1993"/ "Rock auf der Insel/ "Rock auf der Donau Insel" shall not be confused with the Donauinselfest (which is not even a Rock festival)...--Asagoth (talk) 20:49, 30 June 2020 (EDT)
