there's tons of interesting bits and pieces on VR-1's development history out there that just haven't been properly preserved yet, that promotional booklet shown in the well-known page you've linked is one of them - currently on the look out for proper scans of this issue of Login magazine where it features too

as already stated by the Japanese article, the MVD would later end up being used in the designs for the Virtual-On mechs, and the game itself may have even been planned to use the headsets at one point in time on Model 1 hardware

i'm also thinking of giving MVD its own page - completely different headset to the Sega VR one and the coverage given to its development on the Net Merc page would fit better on one
