Currency

It'll take a while for Mediawiki to do the text replaces.

The plan here is to separate all the currency formatting so that it's consistent across all ReleasesXX templates. Also because in the case of pre-Euro France and Germany, I'm sure it's meant to be "xxF" and "DM xx" as opposed to xxFF and xxDM as it is now. Also pack-in or freebie games are better catered for using this method.

I also want it to take into account any mid-console currency switches, e.g. Brazil, or Microsoft dropping MS points - going to have to figure out a way to pass Template:Currency a date without things getting messy. Perhaps we can do fancy things with tax at a later date as well. Dunno.

For a lot of systems, we currently have UK prices in the "EU" row - this will have to change, and I'm hoping there's a way to automate it so we don't have to alter 3492049032 pages. e.g. "if no UK date, use EU date". Having an EU row for older consoles isn't a great plan anyway - is every European country with its own distributor going to get Master System games on the same day? I dunno. Time and time again we've seen that treating the entire continent as one brings up problems. Insert Brexit reference here.

We still need to keep the EU row for dpl reasons, even if EU countries are listed separately. - Hivebrain (talk) 07:04, 20 July 2016 (CDT)
