The Total Control 3 is a third-party Sega Dreamcast accessory manufactured by EMS, allowing the Dreamcast to use Sega Saturn controllers to play games.
Various controllers are supported by the device and will emulate certain Dreamcast accessories. Support varies by game. On the device is a switch and a pause button. The switch dedicates as either a standard Dreamcast controller set or a Twin Stick dedicated for games such as Cyber Troopers Virtual-On: Oratorio Tangram. The converter also dedicates a pause button solely for this game as Saturn Twin Sticks lack a pause button. Standard Sega Saturn controllers are given appropriate "C" and "Z" button mappings and limited shoulder button mappings depending on each game. In addition the device features a Visual Memory Unit slot for saving game progress and data. Because the 3D Control Pad emulates the steering wheel peripheral, only the X-axis on the analog thumb is detected and the analog shoulder buttons are ignored.
In Japan Karat released this as the SS Controller Adapter (SSコントローラーアダプタ).
