From Sega Retro

Alex Kidd was one of Sega's very first mascots.

This teeny-tiny article needs some work. You can help us by expanding it.

Alex Kidd is the protagonist of the Alex Kidd series and Sega's informal mascot prior to the introduction of Sonic the Hedgehog. First appearing in 1986's Alex Kidd in Miracle World, he went on to star in five more games before being phased out in 1990 - although he still makes cameos in modern titles like Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing.

History

Legacy

In the Dreamcast game Segagaga, Alex works in a video game store, reminiscing about his competition against Sonic the Hedgehog and his fall from grace. His appearance in the game is based on 1989's Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle.
