BattleSport is a Sega Saturn sports game released exclusively in North America. It involves space ships.
BattleSport originated as a 3DO exclusive, but was brought to the Saturn and PlayStation under a licenceship agreement with Acclaim (who also planned to bring Star Fighter and Killing Time to both platforms).

Gameplay
As the name implies, BattleSport is a sports game played in vehicles, where the objective is to get a "ball" and fire it into one of the goals before the opposing player can do the same. In addition, vehicles are equipped with weapons that can do damage, and powerups exist which can change each player's stats.
History
Release
A Japanese release was sheduled for 29th August, 1997 (T-8126G, 4 992713 021761, RRP ¥5,800)[5], but is thought to have been cancelled at the last minute. Promotional covers exist, and similar to the Japanese release of Scorcher, it is rumoured some copies were distributed, though as of yet none have been found.
