Gainax (ガイナックス) is one of Japan's most well-known animation studios. It also published video games and may have had a hand in their development.
In addition, Gainax have licensed out many of their properties to video game developers and publishers over the years. For example, Sega picked up the rights to publish games based on Gainax's popular Evangelion series. However, the company entered into financial troubles and in 2024, after 40 years of operation, Gainax entered bankruptcy.[1]
