Pasopiard Yokohama (パソピアード横浜) is a game center that was formerly associated with Sega. Little is known about Sega's exact relationship with the center - it is believed that they merely rented machines out to third party operators, a practise which has been repeated with other venues,[1] though the reasoning for its secondary branding under their name as well as Pasopiard is unknown.
Other Pasopiard venues are known to have existed, including one without their involvement in Kamata, which closed during 2015,[2] and an unidentified third which existed in the 1980s.[3] Sega appears to have stopped assisting the Yokohama location during the late 1990s; its official website in 2001 claims that it is not directly managed by a larger company and only contains video games, as opposed to other types of machines.[4] It closed at the end of June 2023.[5]
It it possible that it is the "Pasopiard" credited in the Special Thanks of Decathlete, making it a likely location test site for the game and other Sega releases during that decade or earlier.
